People seem to think that intelligence is the most important attribute to have. Just like in video games, it's 1 slider out of dozens that determines your strategy for life.

Example: Nicolas Maduro, The sad tale of how a Colombian bus driver became a murderor and later the President of an oil rich country like Venezuela. No intelligence required.

I think the eugenicists and hollywood etc will push that narrative though, as they have in 1930. i'd just rather we overthrow hollywood first and then release this stuff. but then again maybe ur right, maybe we can only overthrow with truth...

Maybe because intelligence is highly correlated with income and being able to afford things like healthcare?

And there are different kinds of “smart”. God gives each one of us special gifts and talents. Just because someone’s talents lie in a different area doesn’t mean they’re not as important! All are important to God!

No one claimed human life is valued by IQ. Would you prefer a pediatrician with a high IQ and a very strong record of intellectual/academic achievement…? Or one with ambiguous, amorphous creativity...?

Happiness in life is more generally determined by one’s emotional intelligence than academic intelligence.

Not true. There are many people with high EQ and high IQ that struggle with anxiety and depression. They are acutely aware of the pain and suffering in the world, and have brains that are constantly thinking about it all.
-
My only point is that a person with high EI will generally have a satisfying life as life is about navigating through relationships one meets in life & helps at work- social scenes & the choice of a life partner. Yes of course MH issues.

I used to work with kids for the Special Olympics, and I’m in Mensa, so I’ve dealt with both ends of the spectrum. I think that “happiness” negatively correlates with IQ, unless EQ is high enough to compensate for the difference in IQ from the norm.

I screwed up school because I am lazy and I procrastinate a lot. I have an unusual personality (INTP) but am quite Intelligent, it would have really helped to have known that I am a little gifted instead of thinking I was mentally ill.

Very true. As you know, abilities (including intellectual) get you ostracized and cast out. Abilities are powers that we hold in trust, require responsibility and can be a burden or a challenge.

Except SES may be correlated with IQ and SES is perhaps also correlated with these: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2910915/ …pic.twitter.com/fCXCfTlMh1
