There's a whole song about this topic. My impression has been that those on the Left who are Jewish often don't self-identify as "white"; whereas, those on the Right who are Jewish and of lighter complexion are more often fine being called "white."https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p26xGXbam_w …

A whole host of people were not classed as 'white' at one stage. Italians, Irish etc in the US were historically not classed as white.

If one can prove an uninterrupted female lineage to even a distant Jewish female ancestor, one will be considered Jewish even if the genetic contribution is minimal after many generations.

Being Jewish is not quite easy. Only orthodox conversions are legitimate (the rest of “Judaism” is only playing make-believe) and notoriously hard to obtain. Race is not a social construct, I couldn’t pass for an Asian and mDNA and Y DNA analysts could also prove it
