Philosophy is the serene silence of sanity between the cacophony musical notes of madness from the symphony of politics and religion.

Case in point, the statement from Chesterton @GKCdaily is philosophical in nature.

Interesting perspective! One could argue that philosophy can, if the believer is devout, follow from religion (making religion the arch-discipline), but I can absolutely see the argument for the reverse, too. Interesting to think about.

Couldn't this technically be a question of perspective? Religion, politics, ethics and the sciences are all portions of philosophy. Thus discussing any of those fields is by nature a discussion of philosophy.

Aquinas in Summa: "Now Scripture, inspired of God, is no part of philosophical science, which has been built up by human reason. Therefore it is useful that besides philosophical science, there should be other knowledge, i.e. inspired of God. " GKC covers this under "religion"

Politics and religion are weaponized philosophy.

I'd like to think that Chesterton would have agreed with you there, but he may have believed that he infused a sort of philosophy into his discussion of politics and religion. Even so though, his wit was sometimes on the mark and other times, maybe not as much.
