You understand averages right? Silicon valley has so much wealth that it masks underlying poverty on average, same in NYC. Better to look at homelessness and median earnings/cost of living. You could do alright on 50k if a house costs 150k and feel poor on 100k if houses cost 1m

I have met Latinos in Mexico and Guatemala that are plenty smart. The biggest frustration I gathered from them is the high amount of corruption in their governments. Kinda like what we are starting to experience here in the USA. Blanket stereotypes are not fair.

No, we are "starting" to experience! We have had corruption, at least since the Reagan era and certainly through Clinton to current! Fraud, Lies, war crimes, committing false flag events, "USS Liberty, Vietnam, Iraq. 9/11 etc.! US created on Genocide and Slavery!

2. By 1865, well before any mass immigration, the US stopped being an “Enlightment Republic”. By 1914 the US system would be unrecognizabe to the founders. You can add other dates too such as 1933 and 1965 (great society) that drastically changed the US, well before mass imm.
