        I mean, that's true for some. However, I'd say it's more common that good singers have good voices because they practice singing a lot. Like most things, we all learn/develop at different rates, but all must put in the time/effort. Source: I'm a music education major.

        Every successful musician I've ever spoken to - including the vocalists - have consistently said that their skill/talent was only 'natural' to a point, that point being fairly early in their development. They had to work after that, put in their '10,000' hours, so to speak.
