My CA city's school board has paid 1.5 mil to Jarrod Schwartz who does Implict Bias training which has made us aware that every white person here is racist, except him. I think it's worth every cent! What would be gained by using that money for books and food for minority kids?

without free speech, the civil rights movement would likely have never happened
-
Yeah people won’t protest and fight for rights unless they’ve been “granted” free speech by the government. Baka

'Racism' is how Western societies lived and prospered for 15 centuries before their current downfall. Don't be intimidated by accusations of racism. Don't modify your behavior or attitudes as a result of being called racist.
-
Sorry, capitalism is how Western societies prospered. Racism has been prevalent in every country on earth for 15 centuries no matter what the color of the people.
-
Bach and Mozart composed and Kant and Shakespeare wrote before capitalism existed. This is prosperity (of spirit).

What, you think the forces of capitalism worked its magic overnight? Without the saved up capital of the few centuries before the industrial revolution, it wouldn't have happened. There are many ways to define the modern world. Capitalism is the motor that made it work.

People never understand this: by allowing someone else to be stepped on, you are setting the precedent to be stepped on yourself. They came for so and so and i did not speak up, because they were not coming for me, etc.
-
Yes you have to remain vigilant to prevent and guard against innocent suffering and loss of life. Thats a given regardless of race. This is the real world. But to try to deny someone free speech because of the content would be like trying to end food. Youre bound to be screwed to

Open dialogue is always important. Even if its hateful. Its the irony that is disappointing. Most racism, aside from the violent kind or extremely oppressive is funny. Ive dealt with it all my life. It always came as a surprise. Life is just funny like that.
