I would actually agree in some sense though that it is a nation in development. Sudden and massive changes in education,policy,standard of living have maybe caused a sort of developmental anomaly. We are changing parameters and people. Kind of concerning, really

Public education is also afffected negatively by the massive immigration of non-English speaking children at lower developmental stages. Less and less of US taxpayer funds (and people resources) is spent on US citizens— here and abroad.
