A pollutant is anything (even energy) that causes undesired effects when introduced to an environment. Anything can become a pollutant (eg topsoil) if it is distributed in a way that causes undesired effects. Yes, this includes C02. Rat poison, if contained, is not a pollutant.

Literally who cares. CO2 warms the planet. This is a fact. Call it whatever you want, scientists (aka people who know what they're talking about) call it a big problem.

No we classify a substance a pollutant when it has the ability to damage an ecosystem's balance in large quantities. That's why plastic is a commonly used product in cities but is a pollutant in oceans.
-
So when torrential rain and floods alter their respective ecosystems, is the water classified a pollutant?
-
No it's any substance/chemical that renders necessary life sources like water or air or soil that provides food harmful.
