I am the ceo of a medium sized business in Africa. It’s true. Out of 100 people not one person can consistently count to 10. Not one can add two digit numbers. Not one can divide by 2. You need to hear what Stefan is saying. It’s based on actual findings. I totally agree with him

And none of them can be taught that? Or could have been taught that?
-
They are taught. As someone with an IQ of 130, I instinctively retain up to first year of college information. Not so much for lower IQ friends. I slow down to make sure everyone is on the same page.

And it is also irrelevant. There is a height bell curve, which is also irrelevant.
-
“The moral and political equality...” yes that’s true. But nobody is questioning that. Stefan’s point is that IQ, like height, has more bearing on economic, occupational and educational success than the overused accusations of racial/gender bias.
-
Fine, but immigration is an issue of moral and political equality - of citizenship. We are not subjects in a feudal monarchy to be judged by our occupations, educations, etc.
-
My understanding of Stefan’s IQ arguments are that he is trying to combat the argument that western income, education and occupation disparities between races are mostly based on racism. Immigration also has to do with culture, demographics and public policy.
-
Indeed, but even if he is correct that they are based on IQ, that observation is irrelevant to questions of moral and political equality.
-
It’s also a relevant to which side dish I should choose for dinner at Denny’s, or how much wood a woodchuck would chuck. Nobody here thinks IQ should determine moral or political rights. I’m not sure why you have been arguing that point so much. You were the first to bring it up.

*irrelevant. Darn talk to text...

The Bell Curve was written in 1994. Many of its sources are suspect and it is an outdated opinion piece.

I don’t know about that, but the fact that “scientific consensus” has clearly lied to us for political ends (and human biodiversity isn’t the only case) is a major reason people are suspicious of global warming.

Another psycholophaster vending pseudo science.

I, don't like it when researchers treat a particular form of cognitive complexity as more important than another form of cognitive complexity.
