We whites are a hodgepodge of closely related EUROPEAN peoples (including Ashkenazi Jews) with a shared history AND pre-history, which, thanks to our many different languages & locations, is culturally VERY diverse.

This does however point to the subjective nature of what we consider to be white or black. It's hard to base hard science on something that is so subjective.

Stefan, I have read (although it was a long time ago so the source now escapes me) that a slim majority of White Americans have at least one Black ancestor somewhere in their family tree. How true it is may require research, but it’s not a completely unheard of claim.
