India’s total TFR has fallen by approximately 30 odd percent since 2000. In the big cities, usually, Indian couples don’t have more than one child. As unpopular as I know this opinion is, the solution is to stop trying to empower women. Stop pushing them at college and stop pushing them to enter the workforce. Hypergamy and dating market forces will then stabilize the fertility rate naturally.
