I really don’t understand why people are upset by the statistics on mixed-race dysfunction. I am the son of a single mother – when I learned about how terrible being raised in such an environment was, I knew what I had to fix. You learn about risk factors in order to fix them.

I read about this before I married my husband, who is Asian. Children of white moms and Asian dads have completely different stats than children of Asian moms and white dads. When sons have a father who looks like them, they have NONE of the issues of Asian sons of white dads.

I'm upset because you haven't provided a source for most of them. They might be true but theres no way to know because you rarely cite anything. Then you expect people to take those numbers as the main way to interpret and explain the phenomenon.

For example, you make claims like this one without providing a source.pic.twitter.com/gefkvrwwd9

This is exactly why he needs to cite his sources. The way he declared that 80% number was as if that was the stat for genetics in older people. When in reality it's one of the highest estimates in a range of numbers.

It's because of the effects of bias. People will tend to see causation in what is actually correlative.

I think it's more difficult to think rationally than it is, to think emotionally

I believe everyone has equal capacity for rational thought, the resistance to it however, seems to vary greatly

I don't know...my dad always told me that when a kid turns thirteen or so, they go temporarily insane. Until around 27 or so (for men, for woman it is 23-24)....the hormones of puberty...

I grew up in a single mum household. 8 siblings and none full blood with me. 2 on the dads side. As a result iv tried my best to make sure I dont make similar mistakes. I don't have casual sex for a start. And iv tried to better my life as much as i can for when i do have kids.

What would you recommend mixed race people and their parents do? What would you recommend for married, mixed-race couples who are preparing to conceive? I can see how these findings would upset such people who were taught the opposite of these studies their whole lives.

Those statistics go against the mainstream narrative and the feelings that narrative creates. Learning about risk factors requires an objectivity many people lack or don't care to cultivate.

Yes Stefan! I am the youngest of 5 girls and my mother raised us without a father figure. It has affected us individually in unique ways. Lots of daddy issues coming out!! None of us are married. Would love to see more studies on this. My mother was amazing too. Can’t be helped.
