Not sure I could agree with that as a general statement unless I'm not understanding. Instead, how about you honor yourself and your own children by speaking the truth about your childhood. For some, speaking such truth would absolutely dishonor their parents, and rightly so.

To me this is the worst, bearing false witness, most dangerous commandment you can be the victim of. Every other commandment is under your control whereas this one is completely out of your hands and can come from anywhere at anytime and destroy everything.
