We certainly don’t have equal contributions. Just look at one family. You probably have an absolutely lazy and unmotivated cousin or uncle that gives little and takes much. Doesn’t change much on a bigger scale. People are just scared of feeling inferior.

I think he's saying that there's a large part of the population which is either incapable of or that chooses not to exercise original thought. I agree. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, it's just a fact of life, like how some people are colorblind or humorless.

I disagree with him that it's tied to IQ though. There are lots of intelligent, high-IQ people who are nonetheless incapable of original or unorthadox thought. We call them NPCs.
