We have the technology to crowd fund all the nice things that people think poor people should have access to. If people are willing to hand over a big portion of their income in the form of taxes now, then we could easily fund libraries, hospitals and schools. People are kind.

I.e., insurance rates would better reflect the risk of building homes in areas prone to flooding, forest fires, earth-quakes, etc if you shrunk the size of government.

Hard to do with a guaranteed actuarial loser like costal property. Crop insurance is also a Faustian bargain of *only* having the option of government assisted crop insurance in most Ag states in the US.

Ironically enough, insurance would be one of the only things government could serve a purpose in providing; not much creativity needed in distributing money.
