If they just mean that 15% of a million is more than 15% of 50 grand then I agree.

I often ask why and the answer I usually get is that it’s a “privilege” and “duty” to pay taxes. You see, it’s a privilege to be able to steal and spend other people’s money to fund their delusions. What moral people.

Ah...trying to derive an “ought” from an “is”.

Only if people who pay no income taxes get no tax refunds at the end of the year from my tax money and they forgo their rights to vote. Then maybe I'll consider it.

Because we need fewer jobs, lower wages, less medical & technological advancement, and more peoples lives controlled by the State through the Welfare System. Duh!

Now seriously, if the definition of rich we're going with is the one of simply earning more money; they already do pay much more in taxes. I'm honestly surprised the rich haven't just banded together to buy their own country at this point; it would be cheaper for them. 2/2

Not fully agreeing with his statement but could a small progressive income tax be looked at as a way to help offset all of the consumption taxes that impose a harsher burden to the average and poor populations than rich?

Should be a flat rate across the spectrum of earnings, making different bands for different earning causes confusion and loop holes. A person working a dangerous job should not pay more because they earn more than a office jock

This shows that people don't understand basic math. If the tax is 10%, you earn 1000$ you pay 100$, you earn 10000$ you pay 1000$. Rich people pay more tax. Unless you make the system too complex and try to tax them more, they get pretty good in minimizing taxes.
