Rothbard used to call himself a "Jewish Thomist," for what that's worth. His book on the Progressive Era is very sympathetic to Catholics/Lutherans, very unsympathetic to Social Gospel types.

The problem occurs from linking an ethnicity to a religion. Jews should just be considered practitioners of that faith whereas members of that ethnicity should be considered either Hebrews or Israelites (not to be confused with Israelis).
