50% of Americans cannot cover a $500 emergency. That's how bad the system has nickled & dimed us to death. Today, an insurance premium for a lot of people is a luxury item. That's compassion, seeing how bad the system is working. U speak from having money.https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-wealth-reduces-compassion/ …

Absolutely agree. It's a terrible situation for sure, but parents need to have life insurance so that their children/spouse will be taken care of in case these terrible situations occur. That is the point of insurance after all.

I find you to be all mind and very little heart. The mind is a horrible instrument, only good for science. But when dealing with humans, the heart must be used, exclusively. It leads to deeper insights than the shallowness of the mind.
-
Heart leads to burning people at the stake for being witches... historical fact...science leads to freeing people from the terror of polio...I could go on but I won't.
-
The insane rationalizations of the mind influenced by dogma... led to people being burned at the stake. Empathy and compassion from the heart was not involved. I think you see that issue completely backwards due to a flip flopping rationalization.
-
Was it the mind or the heart? If the mind is "only good for science" then was it the heart or was it science that had people standing around a fire burning a human?
