If I understand correctly, you propose that people marry while they're young (18-22?) & have children early. It is easy for a young person (man or woman) to choose the wrong partner due to shortsightedness + lack of life experience. The brain isn't fully developed until ~25.

Generally speaking I dont think young women or men are schooled in discerning manipulation. Its afterwards in therapy or reading that you learn of the ways of the world.
