Exactly the conversation I had about the West Vancouver property tax. A family may have foregone vacations and other luxuries to earn a good home in a good neighbourhood and after many years have something to show for it. It's a punishment on good decisions and sacrifice.
One of the reasons why predatory democracy is so unfair is that the fruits of unproductive decisions – fun, relaxation good memories - cannot be redistributed, while the fruits of productive decisions – resources, money – can be.
