I disagree with no fault divorce. But if we have it, we should at least get rid of alimony. I say keep alimony and get rid of no fault divorce, if it's one or the other.

Since you're a big advocate for wife staying home, how would you expect her to immediately recover from being out of the workplace?

I think it’s more complicated than he’s trying to make it. If the wife didn’t work, and the husband leaves or cheats, she should collect alimony. If she leaves without reason or is cheating on him, she doesn’t deserve it. She can get some of the assets in the divorce, no alimony
-
This is why most states went no fault divorce. It comes down to he said she said and becomes an accusation game wasting court time.

Ahh finally something we disagree on. When my dad left my mom and two kids if my mom didn’t have alimony we would have been in big trouble. It’s not just mom’s responsibility but dad’s too. You can’t just leave and drop the consequences and responsibilities of kids.

Alimony and child support arent the same thing

Being married to you would definitely be considered a job that you should be paid for so I can see where you're coming from

All marriages pay in some regard, not monetarily, the construct of intimate bondage and human needs goes back before modern forms of currency. Sex for safety.

Ok thanks for the tip, Nathan.
