IQ has been rising (Flynn effect) but as far as I know I don’t think we know the causality of this increase over generations. Is it evolutionary pruning? Or is the standard of reasoning and knowledge increasing in youth, thus raising the bar in brain development?

Is IQ epigenetic? Does the conditioning of our brains in youth ultimately decide our IQ in adulthood? Just as it is hard to teach and old dog new tricks, perhaps there is a window that determines IQ. I dont think it can be purely genetic, as the rapid increase can’t be explained
