There’s no doubt that we know very well how to harm I Q – raising it is another matter entirely. A lack of nutrition can prevent you from achieving your genetic height, but extra nutrition doesn’t make you tallerhttps://twitter.com/JordanSanchezCA/status/1075986273435713537 …

My point is IQ mustn’t necessarily be tied to genetic factors. Other factors must be accounted. Recent studies for example have found smoking marijuana at a young age lower IQ by 8 points. As for raising IQ I would assume a stable household, allows one to focus on intelligence

This height analogy is very reductionist and the link is pretty weak. IQ is more complex than height and can be influenced by MANY factors in a person’s life.

No one doubts that. The extent to which IQ is genetic is much less proven than compared to height. Also RACE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GENETICS. If you’re going to respond with oh but some black ppl have sickle cell. Please get a fucking textbook and learn: races are biolog. groups

They are not defined by biological differences. They are defined by social and historical standards. Why do we consider black skin a hall mark of a race but having sickle cell not... because race was defined by obvious differences in the body, not genetic diversity!

It doesn’t. It has to do with malaria. Areas which historically had malaria will have higher rates of sickle cell and thalassemia. Thalassemia is a better analogy because it’s found from Africa to South East Asia and Papua New Guinea

IQ can be raised (restored to optimal genetic configuration) with good nutrition especially iodine & fish oil for instance just as it can be lowered with neurotoxins.

However, proper nutrition is essential to optimization of height. Likewise for IQ,I would think. So that would be a good starting point in any effort to raise mean IQ scores.

It wouldn’t bring you past your genetic limit but it could bring you to that limit. Increased access to food has caused average human height to increase over the decades. Over a hundred years ago 5’8” was average for a man. So in a sense it would make us taller.

I had a personal account while living in China, I worked at a University where most Ph.D staff were first gen sons of Chinese farmers. their 2nd gen were taller than them, as they started having middle class habits in western standards. some of them now work at US universities
