Not to disagree with your point, but just as an aside, I think you could say that the majority of people in western society, regardless of sex/gender/whatever, have no idea what it takes to keep this thing going, and generally look down on those who keep it running

This would only make sense if all mothers gave birth once a year, every year until retirement age. Motherhood is a career, not giving birth.
