We stayed home while our daughter was young, Now that she is 7 I find it's better for her to spend more time apart from us.

It doesn't have to be the Mother looking after the Child it could be the father it could also be the grandparents. In fact historical the grandparents in many cultures would look after the children while BOTH parents worked in the fields

I was a single Mom and stayed home with my son. I did massage therapy out of my home. Best decision ever! When he became a teenager being with his friends took precedence. He’s become a responsible upstanding young man! Very grateful.

The first eight years are the most precious, life changing time of a human being. Some of our fondest, terrible and nostalgic moments from the first eight years. From our favourite foods, media (cartoons characters), professions, personality traits, etc.

I was beaten everyday for eight years from the time I entered first grade by my caretaker. The ones I remember the most are from six to nine. Everything else is a blur.

We live in a different world now Stefan. I wish we could all afford to have dad work and mom stay home. It would be fantastic. Its not realistic for many many people anymore. A simple middle class life in suburbia with 1.5 kids is not doable for under 125k anymore. Just isnt

Kids need the security and stability of a home parent. Totally agree. If you can’t provide that, then don’t have them only to have strangers raise them.

Those of us who grew up before the assault on the family made daycare and broken homes routine know the truth of what you're saying. Spending one's childhood outside, on bikes, in parks, in safe neighborhoods can't be matched by a childhood penmed up in daycare.

There is a lot of scholarship on just how much influence parents can actually have. One clear item is: helping them select worthy playmates and friends. Hard to do that when you are not around observing.

It was hard at the time but staying home with mine while they were the little was the highlight of my life! I’m still home with them as teenagers working from home :)
