Don't date passive aggressive men, they are the ones that tend to be abusive and get violent. Assertively aggressive men, however, are much more mature, logical, and emotionally balanced than their passive aggressive counterparts. They expect their partner to be that way, too.

It's unfortunate, but lots of times, when a woman wouldn't take the steps to get away herself, she'd move heaven and earth to get her children away. Many times, ladies tell themselves "he'll change." No, they don't, and the warnings and "tells" need to be heeded.

"economically dependent" is a college way of saying "trades violence for food". You can definitely choose to intervene in bad choice-making (abuse of all kinds) but yes, of course, the best solution is to wake the victim to his or her own role.
