If your wife would be unhappy if you paid some stranger minimum wage to take her out on your anniversary so you could get some work done, how do you think your baby feels about being dumped in daycare? Your baby needs you. Parenting cannot be delegated. Find a way. Don’t do it

All the people who’s best friends were their parents growing up seem to think Mr Molyneux owned you.

You mean all of those people who still can’t adjust to a room full of people? The people that need everyone to win a first-place trophy? The people that are in therapy at 11? Stefan, admittedly, grew up being abused. It’s sad, of course, but it also means he is jaded.

It amazes me that there are people out there who actually believe warehousing their own children is better for the children than having their parents around to raise them.

I’d hope so; Kids who prefer hanging out with their parents more than other kids tend to be a bit on the weird side. Not as weird as adults who prefer hanging out with kids.

You’re right Stefan. The govt has caused this intolerable situation since the 1970s and we already see the damage. It must stop. This is our future but, more to the point, it’s inhumane to throw kids into daycare with strangers. This is what families do best. Not strangers.

I get your point, but what are they supposed to do? Stay home, and collect welfare? Screw that.
-
Obviously people need to work. A mother now goes on mat leave with a newborn and the older sibling is in daycare. This happens a lot. People seem to like the idea of having kids but not raising them.
-
That kind of thinking does have drawbacks especially once the kid grows up. Lack of genuine parental love does not always turn out well for the kid.

Away ? Do they not live under same roof ?
-
Of course they do. And they get more love than 90% of children in this world.

No, clearly not. They have learned a ton, most of all how to work in groups, socialization, etc. My wife and I both spend tremendous amount of time with our children. That you think it is impossible to have a healthy balance with your kids in daycare, is absolutely ridiculous.
