Most mothers who work outside the home end up getting a couple bucks an hour at best after paying for childcare and extra expenses When your kids grow up, ladies, they will do the math and realize that you abandoned them for about the price of an iced latte. Good luck.

Counter: my mom, a single parent, refused to work when she was able, instead choosing to live off $ from her family and BF. She wasn't able to sufficiently support me financially and many in my family had to step in. To me, not working was abandonment and a selfish act. Thoughts?

Parents divorced when I was 3. Dad suffers from mental health issues, could never hold a job. Mom worked for yrs until I was 10 when she moved us in with her BF. Grandparents from both sides had to fund me instead after her repeated refusal to work. I still resent the selfishness
