You wouldn’t let other toddlers be in charge of your kids nutrition, or safety, or sleep schedule – why on EARTH would you let them be in charge of socializing your kid?https://twitter.com/HazzardJ/status/1075188772705320961 …

What if putting our kids in day care a few times a week for the benefits of being around other kids, and learning to cope with an adult other than their parent is part of our parenting strategy? Money we’ll spent!

This is interesting to see stefan be completely wrong. Because he came at this from an emotional angle. I mean, he may as well have died his hair green and picked up a megaphone.

In a family/community, children are around lots of adults& other children of diff ages. The current educ’n model has one adult w/@ *least* 8 children all same age. Children never learn to care for younger ones under adult supervision. It’s institutionalized Lord of the Flies.

Institutionalized Lord of the Flies esp @ pub schools, where it’s 25 kids in 1 class, vastly outnumbering the one adult. They basically choose from soc’l mores taught by the state, & learn & develop them by peer pressure of others @ same stage of development w/min adult input

Worse, they are being taught now by people taught by people taught by people who all had the same kind of education. Talk about Dunning-Kruger, they all are highly “educated” with the firm belief that they know the only true way.

Well that’s a straw man if I’ve ever seen one. Create an argument instead of addressing his? He didn’t suggest that he would give control over to a child. He suggested there are benefits to children being around people who may or may not care for them at an early age,

Rather than only being explained the situation, they experience first hand and come home where the parent in control of socializing explains the situation.

How did children learn socialization skills before we sat them in a room with other children of their similar age and called it socialization?

Plainly many here have not seen a modern all ‘inclusive’ childcare Center. Total lack of any real discipline. I’ve seen a 4 year old throw a large wooden brick in another child’s face and not even get disciplined. Children today can be savage and the adults not in control.

It's amazing the excuses parents will come up with to pawn off the education and upbringing of their children to someone else.

Respectfully disagree with you here. Children are tough. They can handle dealing with people who do not love them unconditionally. I expect they benefit from the variety and challenge.

Daycare is completely natural. Do you honestly think hunter gatherer Man. Could afford to effectively remove young healthy women from essential duties to care for their toddler 24/7?

My homeschooled children were successfully socialized by people of all ages and experience. Peer socialization canard is peddled by those who profit from warehousing children.
