Government shutdown – for those who pay taxes, it comes as a relief. For those paid by government, it’s scary. Those forced to pay versus those bribed for votes: the only two classes left in the world.

Except those paid by the government get a day off ... with full pay once the shutdown is over.

That is incorrect taxpayers aren’t getting it back. Many federal workers aren’t included in a shut down and the ones effected will get back pay. It only impacts contractors and with trumps recent request for a 6% cut back from all agencies these people were already let go.

Actually government shutdowns end up costing more money than if it didn't happen. Because everyone will end up getting paid anyways plus the added costs of having to deal with the shutdown.

Your assuming those not getting paid are important enough to get bribed and that those that get bribed don't have enough money to ride out for years.

After the shutdown people get paid. The only ones on furlough are the non-essential employees.

The problem with your thinking is every time we shut down government we end up paying everybody for the time they didn't even work... I'm not afraid of government shutting down but in the context of how it's happened recently it accomplishes nothing

Shutdown the government, then the Southern border, then foreign aid to Mexico, ... I’m trying to see the downside in all of that. No, I got nothing.

Not surprisingly, those bribed for votes far outnumber those forced to pay.
