Most modern immigrants to the west vote hard left do try to keep up. As an analogy, first you fix the giant hole in the hull then you get to sail where you want to go.

Melville said of Emerson that he had a "self-conceit so intensely intellectual that at first one hesitates to call it by its right name". He could have been speaking about you.

If you’re claiming accuracy, you need to provide reason and evidence. Never mind, I don’t think you even know what the difference is between an opinion and argument

Biggest issue in the world. Forget climate change. We need to get the brown out.
-
The problem isn’t the brown it’s the IQ of them. The average British Indian is significantly higher IQ than the average India Indian but sadly quite communist in ideology.
-
It's not a problem at all, actually.

Stefan, it's big issue but fraught, and far from the only one. Engineers can approach their problems by the most direct route. Therapists know that sometimes you need to approach an emotionally-laden problem not via the most efficient route but by the route a person can take.
-
But wouldn't you agree it's the most immediate one? I can think of many other huge problems, but the rate of migration/immigration right now is on pace to create a catastrophe the world has perhaps never seen before. Stefan's been dire about this for a reason.
-
No, I wouldn't agree it's the most immediate. As you say, you can think of many other huge problems (human genetic engineering and implication of advancing AI come to mind for me) and historically, humans have shown little capacity for identifying "the most immediate" of them.
-
It's called the collapse of the welfare state combined with a decreasing demographic who understand the solution (capitalism). Frankly advancing AI and genetic engineering is the biggest cop out I've ever heard. I was thinking of public schools, mass drugging of children, etc.
-
You illustrate my point precisely...different people see different problems as fundamental and immediate. To make matters worse, some people seem to feel that their view must be right while the views of others are mere cop-outs.
