There are open air slave markets in Libya at the moment, but no one talks about them, because there’s no white guilt to profit from in that situation, it is just despicablehttps://twitter.com/oaedoel/status/1070034121529942019 …

He doesn't. When he talks of slavery he means "white people enslaving blacks". What he doesn't mean is widespread culture of slavery that was so commonplace through nearly all African kingdoms that slaves were so throwaway cheap the Portuguese could buy them for shiny beads.

Slavery is only bad if the pigment of the buyer breaks a certain threshold. Has nothing to do with slaves. Zero blame historically of blacks trading their own for material goods.

Our Elites. Don't put that on the people. The country was totally against it. David Cameron wanted to go into Syria as well. Thank god that was narrowly defeated in the House Of Commons.

No doubt today's slavery is despicable. Why does no one talk about it on TV? Compared to all the USA-talk about 18/19 century slavery? Actually plenty of white people were slaves as well. Slavery was near-universal. eg Slavs. The (white?) British Navy stopped it worldwide.

There is modern day slavery . About 1 percent of the United States owned slaves and why do we have “ white guilt “ ? Your parents probably never owned a slave . So are you collectively guilty of the actions of the 1% ? What % of us are criminals today? Are you guilty of this also

Population control. The Africans rejected too many people overcoming their limited resources so instead of Farming, which was not viable due to ignorance AND malaria, they just got rid of them. US took in Africa's rejects. How genius are the African rejects? I'd say a lot.

Yet this affirms the Western values that enables genius at the expense of the "reigning culture". There is no genius coming out of Africa, but Africans, in a system designed to enable genius, certainly have a lot of skin in the game despite coming from the lowest of circumstance.

Those markets didn't exist under Gaddafi, they came with NATO warplanes which brought democracy to Libya.

That's how regional issues work, people in a region will talk about issues exclusive to their region first. That's like asking why people in Flint Michigan don't talk about the toxicity of the Yellow river
