Boy, can you imagine the West not invading the third world for oil and influence and also not establishing aliances that completly undermind the West values such as freedom or sovereingty. Can you also imagine complaining about the most obvious consequences such as migration?

From Galeano's "Open Veins of Latin America," to CrimeThinc's "No Wall They Can Build," it's pretty obvious that Stefan's masters WANT destabilized regions to draw resources (and refugees) from. The "migrations" are a deliberate, lucrative part of imperialism.

Could you imagine if the west had not colonized the “third world” and extorted said countries for most of their riches to then cynically tell them they have to “fix their own problems?” Your historical narrative is inaccurate and illogical to say the least.

I live in Canada. We were a colony. For the most part we are better off now then ever before. Although the same can’t be said for a lot of other former colonies. Sometimes being colonized can be a good thing, but my ancestors were put in residential schools so what do I know.

The problem with your argument is that you assume that Canada is better off because it was a colony. Did you ever consider that Canada and the US were barley touched by WWII when compared to their industrial European counterparts, therefore they didn’t have to rebuild and...

I didn’t assume that but I do agree with you. I’ve actually used a similar argument myself. You said that it was the west that colonized third world countries and I was just pointing out that a lot of western countries were colonies themselves at one point

There is a case to be made from the side your arguing for. You, however, have used the worst argument to support it.

Some people: “why do you always argue in terms of group identity? Collectivism is not cool” Also the same people: “The west used to...,” “we in the west are...” RIP consistency.

he actually thinks that the aid money the west sends is even 1% of the money that the 3rd world loses due to unfair trade rules made by the west + the general exploitation of them

one can make the argument that western aid and religious missionaries have destroyed third world countries by infecting them with false hope and materialism... western medicine has caused the populations to explode beyond what natural selection would have allowed...

Just think of all the diversity we'd be missing out. We would be very weak. Like Japan ... wait, what?
