        Because it's much more important to consider how doing a Bad Thing affects the one who did the Bad Thing than it is to think about how it affected the people to which the Bad Thing was done. If I go out and punch an alt-righter, won't you think of the toll that put on me.

        It might explain why he used perfect science in his “Cosmos” remake discussing the five historical extinction events, but ignored science and showed photos of smokestacks and jet exhaust to “prove” modern climate change beliefs.
