The female mannequins actually show more of a contemporary version if desired body type for women. If you look at classic cultures they would desire women with wide child-bearing hips.

The one thing average women find even more intimidating than some skinny narrow-hipped model type is someone with the busty, wide-hipped, fertile body exemplified by folks like Hayley Atwell, Gemma Arterton, Monica Bellucci, Bryce Dallas Howard, etc.
