Stefan I know that if you are leaving Warsaw via Central Railway Station "the Palace" is natural object for taking last picture. But for Polish people this building is very controversial. Stalin's gift, for years symbol of Soviet domination, and last but not least it looks ugly.

The ugliest building in Poland, a gift from Stalin... Should be demolished long time ago :(
-
remember your history, good or bad
-
We can still remember it after it's demolished

-
Still, I think keeping a building standing is a cheap price to pay to remind you of your history But, not my countrypic.twitter.com/F3JJoPGDqz

In most cases you might be right. I would never destroy Ausschwitz, Stutthoff, the memorial in Palmiry etc. But in this particular case it is one of the most prominent buildings of our capital. It makes people think that we like to be reminded of soviet occupation.
-
It's also not an obvious reminder of history like Auschwitz. Just an ugly building that symbolizes Soviet domination after the "liberation" of the capital and Poland.

Stefan you need to come back at summer time. Especially I suggest you to visit Tatra Mountains.

In comparison it kinda is sane but believe me - there is also a lot of political correctness etc. But I have to agree with you - in terms of politics UK is shit. I dont mean to offend anyone because I still love many things about GB: language, premier league, Spitfire, top Gear<3
