I work hard to make enough money to keep my daughter at home with my wife instead of in daycare. I can't walk past the one in downtown Seattle by my bus stop without feeling sad, so I avoid it. Kids dropped off by their parents at 7 AM to spend all day with strangers. Tragic.

And then you have working mothers denigrating Stay at home moms. So much for “sisterhood”. Money is not always the determining factor. We Cannot have it all.

Yes. Got more money and respect working outside the home but parents need to be there for their kids!

Big Government loves working mothers. Not only do they pay taxes, they generate taxable revenue for the housekeeping and daycare sectors.

OK, but like everyone else, you don't remember your first 2 years or so.

We raise our children in government run education systems and send off our elderly to government run health systems. What is going on?

I was a father able to stay home with the kids up to four days a week - you can't understand how important it is for them to have a parent there always; better even the mother, but that's not Murphy Brown PC'ed

I stayed home for first 3 years of my daughters life. It wasn’t easy. It took its toll on me financially & emotionally at times, but I’m glad I did it & wouldn’t trade those precious years together for anything. My daughter & I both gained greatly from our time together.

We were broke when I quit my job to stay at home with my infant daughter. Hang in there. My baby is almost 30 now. They were tough years, but I am SO happy now that I was able to be there with her. You can’t go back. Treasure these short years.
