During World War 2, Poland lost 38% of its national assets – Britain lost 0.8%, and France only 1.5%. 1 in 5 Poles were killed. Britain and France betrayed Poland in September 1939, and again in 1945. 50 years of totalitarianism. Independence Day matters. Poland strong.

Poland was conquered in 3 weeks. How could 1 in 5 Poles be killed in that time? The territory and population of Poland before and after the war were very different. I suspect some serious flaws in this calculation.

“During ww2” - brutal occupation by Nazis and Commies. Polish holocaust. WW2 lasted for more than 3 weeks.

I was just at their 100th Anniversary march. 99.9% of the crowd was everyday Polish citizens. I saw 5 people holding far-right flags out of a crowd over 200,000 people. Don't let the BBC and Guardian lie to you. Far from being a far-right event.pic.twitter.com/o5jGQ92DRS

Indeed. I was there too. Along with young families with children, elderly people, disabled people in wheelchairs, people of all ages, from all social groups. All now labelled "extremist" or "fascist" for simply showing love of their country. Shame on the lying leftist press.

After the event I showed the Twitter headlines of the event to my Polish friends. They were dumbfounded by the way BBC and the Guardian portrayed the event. There were people with wheelchairs and hundreds of people with strollers. The very young and the very old.

One thing that @StefanMolyneux forgot: it was #Lenin who put #Poland back on the map. It was the #USSR that liberated Poland. It was the USSR-supported Armia Ludowa that entered Poland, and it was the Soviet "totalitarians" that put Polish leaders in charge of a liberated state

What matters also is the both occupants targeted polish elites, communist were very focused on them, being a mp, law enforcement or even university graduate was almost like a death sentence. Just to remember Katyn massacre - over 20 thousands officers murdered by soviets.

I wish this meme would die already. While France may have been unprepared for the war, Britain's Navy went to work immediately and engaged the German Navy on the day war was declared. Furthermore, the British Expeditionary Force cont.

...had boots on the ground in mainland Europe within weeks of the declaration of war. It should also be pointed out that neither the French Army or the BEF were prepared for this type of combined arms maneuver warfare that the Germans were employing.

Thus leading to the disaster at Dunkirk. Afterwards Britain was forced to defend its own homeland against "The Blitz". Now I don't know about you, but I have no qualms against a nation defending itself first and then helping its allies.

And as for 1945, you should read Churchill's memoirs. He became increasingly frustrated with FDR's constant appeasement of Stalin. That's because Roosevelt was an admirer of Stalin and completely ignored the advice of his commanders regarding the Soviet Union.
