OK $2.5T is owned by the Fed, so cancel that out because they could mint a $2.5T coin and take it across the street and end it with no impact.
-
-
-
Another $5T is owned by other government trust funds, so the government owes that money to itself. That's not exactly a huge threat.
-
That leaves about $14T debt, and our annual GDP is $19T. That's not a huge burden.
-
Unfunded liabilities are about $180 trillion my friend, please educate yourself
-
I still don't see national debt as an issue, but I'll go look up unfunded liabilities, because if they are at $180T that seems like a legitimate issue.
-
The issue is confidence, not the amount. The amount changes the perception. The Romans could have just kept minting worthless coins as the Americans will mint worthless paper. Who owns the worthless paper or the worthless coins matters not. 100% of History, 100% of the future.
-
American paper is not worthless because the federal government requires taxes to be paid in American paper.
-
Not saying you are wrong today. 100% of human history validates my position though. The future is guaranteed & Steph's post has nothing to do with today's value but tomorrows. But hopefully you get to kick the can into the next generation.pic.twitter.com/DlUVqF7Tg2

You can’t fix a mathematically unstable system. It simply has to be replaced with something else. That will require pain.
-
Hopefully no, probably yes.
-
Unfortunately it’s a certain yes. The world and it’s resources are currently structured in a way that guarantees pain when credit is removed from the system. It’s not something that gives me joy to say.

College for the MOST part is a racket. They get you to spend THOUSANDS of dollars to HOPEFULLY get a job in your field of study...MOST don't. That's why being a nurse is such a GREAT career. I've been in the medical field 29 years, and a nurse almost 20.

Start with a foreign policy not run by weapons manufacturers and the oil and gas industry. US continues to waste Trillions on banker wars
-
As good of a place to start as any. Pause for a moment, and think of a scenario where that actually happened. Play it out a few decades. It’s positive effects are endless. A restoration of America and it’s “dream”. Amazing.
-
Even if the US reduced its military spending to match the next biggest spender, China, it would release 2-300bn to spend on schools, vets, inner city etc. You could actually make America great....

This is part of why i dont buy into political climate change. They trick you into believing that they care about the future of the country and planet, all the while racking up billions and billions in debt to pass on to future generations.
