It has always seemed strange to me that illegal aliens on welfare can send remittances back to their home country...

Obviously that means we can cut welfare benefits. Sounds like a win.

Absolutely and the US isn’t taxing them. “Remittances are essentially a tax-free transfer of wealth out of the U.S. Approx $20 billion of Mexican remittances each year disappear from the U.S. economy via the...money transfer industry, never to return.”http://www.cairco.org/issues/remittances …

And get welfare, and healthcare and legal support, all costing the taxpayers money and taking up valuable Court time and money. What joke of a country Canada has become!

Strange that welfare is set at a level where money is left over-shouldn’t it be just enough to get by until work is found?

If their benefits were removed, that problem would evaporate quickly, I’d imagine!

No, they work, but for cash. Show low income, receive welfare. And don’t pay taxes on the cash. But, they work hard. Lots of businesses need these laborers who actually produce results. Not saying it’s right,...

How do we know that illegals receive welfare? If they do, how much? Illegally entering another country, undercutting their wages, refusing to pay taxes, collecting money that is taken by force from their laborers, and sending it home, would be an outrage if its true.

It's really an easy solution, too. All cash movement should automatically be traceable for recipients on welfare, similar to statements required for bankruptcy. If money leaves the country, then it should be paid back. If not, fines, and then possible sentencing/deportation.
