One overlooked reason why false allegations must be punished is that if they are not, courts will be utterly overwhelmed with such accusations. False allegations feed crime.

The very problem is baked into your equation; that those allegations had to be proven false. No, the system is supposed to place the weight of proof on the accuser, not the accused.

U can because the crime would have been committed recently, not 30 years ago. i.e. witness tampering, lying under oath about details with therapist, any evidence which may come up that complainant purposely left out specific details in story so it wouldn't be falsifiable etc...

True. My point was lying about actual events from the past are impossible to prove. Recent sins wrt therapists etc could be pursued.

Speculating: Some have said they believe Ford had something happen 2her but that it wasn't Kavanaugh. So if something did happen &the justice system did punish her wouldn't that also be detrimental? I think some say they've had something happen 2them similarly as a hypochondriac

you can be the victim of a crime and a criminal at the same time, i.e. she may well have been assaulted at some point in her life but her blatant lies are criminal.

If proof comes out that she's lied under oath or that there was a conspiracy that breaks the law, then prosecute. I'd prefer not to go down the road of a "maybe." I would like 2b very clear before an attempt. I'd also encourage Kav to sue 4court/attorny fees if there is slander.
