They believe it to be, but there's also a fair number of them that still believe they can somehow overturn the 2016 election peaceably and even more that think the Democratic party will gain control of the US Senate this year. It's just an attempt to delay or cry foul.

My question is this: what happens when the FBI comes back and clears him? that will just turn the story to "patriarchy strikes again" and there won't be any actual progress in the conversation.

No kidding. I foolishly noted that one benefit of having leftist Obama in office was suddenly the press had respect for the federal agencies & Military. I never imagined that the FBI & DOJ had been wholly corrupted.

I find it very damning that Blasey Ford has strongly rejected the Republican’s plan to use a experienced sex-crimes prosecutor to ask the questions.

To think when I was growing up late 50’s, early 60’s, the FBI was considered the most prestigious law enforcement agency in the world. Just shows what some bad apples at the top can do if they get their way. Overall, the rank and file are dedicated, trustworthy individuals.
