Really? Out of all the analogies they could pick... they went with FOOD?

We already live socialism. How do you think we pay for roads, medicare, defense spending, and subsidies for farmers and other corporations? Congress is nothing but pork belly spending for their corporate districts. And yes, people are starving just as you say.
-
It's still a mixed economy when much of it is privately owned. But yes, many people are poor because of the programs you mentioned. None are starving to death though. Tens of millions of Soviets died from the lack of food. As in, after they ate the neighborhood pets, they died.
-
People are not poor from those programs. People are poor because our education system sucks and it is a technical world now. It does not help that the top 1% hoards money and that our government lost control of printing money in 1913, which lead to this mess of debt and interest.pic.twitter.com/0FsSy56OYb
-
People are poor because their money can be printed at all. Inflation is always a massively regressive tax. And those programs impoverish them because they only exist because money can be printed, and also because all government spending destroys society's wealth.
-
I think you would like the ideas of
@PositiveMoneyUK. Money does not have to enter the economy as interest and debt. Something our founding fathers believed in.pic.twitter.com/0Nq0Fbfg2K

I know quite a bit about monetary policy and banking, and I agree with you that the current system is awful and criminal. But I don't approve of the government having a say in the money at all. Let people use gold or silver or Bitcoin or whatever they want.
-
Money went out of whack as soon as we printed paper. It is real as gold and silver.

If you’ve ever wondered how little Socialists care about the murders of over 100 MILLION people in the last century, remember this demon lady likening it to having a messy kitchen.

By that logic, you would keep trying to use nuclear weapons to clean out your clogged drain. Just because millions of people died the first time? No reason to not try again!pic.twitter.com/X3jxfcFTM2

You joke, but in 1958 the US Atomic Energy Commission proposed using several nuclear bombs to create an artificial harbor on the North Slope of Alaska.

I did know about that one . . . ! I loved all of the Plowshare projects. Especially the one that made the natural gas (in one area) radioactive in New Mexico. Talk about frakking!

Think of socialism like a bad case of herpes. Just because you have bumps and redness, doesn’t mean you go around declaring you’ll never have unprotected sex again! It just means you need to redistribute the herpes to the masses.

Was she saying Let them eat cake?
-
To be fair, she only meant it for when they run out of bread.

Socialism is poison disguised as candy, doesn't matter how often it fails, or how high the body count, the next generation want to take a bite, because *this time* it's different...
