I think that it's not the Christianity of Russia that inflames the Left so much as they are instead driven by what their leaders say they should attack and their leaders are driven according to how they've been bribed.

My right wing friends told me that Obama was a Believer and that's why he helped Iran and Saudi Arabia. But those countries are on the opposite sides of the HUGE Sunni / Shia civil war. Easier explanation is that he was bribed. Follow the money.

That's just dumb, like the reason for the West's confrontation with Russia is because they are christians. Nothing to do with Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Georgia, or with the constant stream of political murders by the Kremlin.

I'm not defending the Chinese govt in any way. I'm just saying that the fact that the Chinese aren't christians, but the Russians are, does not determine the difference in the relations the West has with both countries.
