I can't even. Hitler rose to power because of the *lack* of freedom of speech. People where threatened into silence. If Germans had been able to record video with their phones and Tweet out things in real time, he never would have risen to power.

Hitler rose to power because Germans were being starved to death. They were paying massive war reparations on top of sanctions. Germany had been carved up and given away to other nations. Poles slaughtered Germans. Hitler asked for a corridor for them to escape, Poland refused.

The rest is history. But at least Churchill revealed the truth before he died.pic.twitter.com/UkvfiDruRo

"Letter of the Week". So, the mainstream media endorse the abridgement of free speech? For shame.

More like “Letter of the Weak”

Problem is the Left is imposing a new Free Speech Bible. Authored by them. But if conservative narrative could be racist, the leftist narrative could be fascist. Vagueness 'could' get everybody banned. A huge silence, a bankrupt market of opinions.

The Herald is a liberal/progressive newspaper and Gerald is a hypocrite. You know there is an issue when he pulls out Hitler in the first paragraph to control. He just wants to shut down alternative view points like Trumps, conservatives and others.

The irony is not lost on me that a newspaper that relies on free speech, has published a letter warning about the very thing that allows them to exist.

Stopped reading at the Hitler reference. All opinions that have to invoke fear by introducing a bogeyman should be immediately disregarded.

I agree you don’t have to listen to speech that you don’t to listen to, but why try to stop other grown adults from choosing to listen to it? You know what’s best for them do you? Bit arrogant and bullying of you?
