No. The means of production are the technologically mediated ways through which the labor power of human beings is deployed to create commodities.

#Singlepayer would save us money, moron. Right now 30%-40% of EVERYTHING medical related goes to an insurance company. They are middlemen who only make money by denying you the service you are paying them for.#Bernie2020pic.twitter.com/1BH9ap5XAZ

FA Hayek says that decades ago the socialists gave up trying to control the means of production & switched their philosophy for gaining more control over to redistribution of wealth & more taxation & more regulation instead.

That’s wrong : it’s the ‘social ownership ‘ so co-ops , public, collective ownership, of ‘the means of production ‘ which isn’t workers/humans but instruments of labour ( machines/ factories/ rail ways etc) or subjects eg natural resources , materials.

Capitalism is private ownership of the means of production, but remember, the means of production are always human beings. In the past, this was just openly called slavery. Am I doing this right?

Also I'm not a socialist. But if you're going to bash them for endorsing slavery then I would have hoped you'd know these pretty basic but important distinctions between labour/labour power, relations of production (what you were actually going for) and the means of production.

The means of production are tools, factories, machinery, etc. Read some Marx you pseudo philosophical hack. Also under capitalism, companies and capitalists control the means of production, does that make capitalists slave drivers?

They have a two tear system. The general public get a certain level of medical care the wealthy get excellent healthcare because they PAY for it. Many come to United States for medical care because it’s better and cheaper. Living in Michigan we see it all the time.
-
Canada does not have a two tier medical system.
-
Actually they do unless you pay you don’t get to see who you want. You don’t choose unless you pay! I have family in Toronto, Montreal. I have horror stories galore. Plus look at death rates for breast cancer, heart attacks and so much more. They fail compared to US!
-
You cannot pay to see a specific doc in Canada. I am Canadian, I know. Canada has wonderful health care. The more urgent your need the quicker you are seen by a specialist.
-
Funny my uncle who lives in Toronto had to pay for insurance that provided doctors or boutique services to have better care. Especially when he was sent home three times from the hospital for gall bladder surgery and rescheduled three times before he changed. I have stats too!
-
He might have paid for medcan which is entirely different from healthcare. One example does not make a statistic.
