In 1807, the very white British Parliament outlawed slavery throughout the Empire - the first nation to do so in human history. Now only whites are blamed for slavery, because no good deed ever goes unpunished.

Yet no one condemns the present and continues slave trade practiced through out the Muslim states.

I stabbed a stranger several times the other day. In the middle of this act, I decided to stop. Not only did he not thank me, he wants me held accountable for stabbing him in he first place. What an ingrate!

It's that you were the first to stop others from stabbing strangers. And the people that now want to hold you accountable not only kept on stabbing strangers but were even worse.

Why didn't you mention the Arab slave trade? It ended 133 years AFTER white Europeans ended slavery and BEGAN 1000 years BEFORE European slave trade. Arabs are more racist than whites. but we can't teach that in schools Can we?

Being white does not mean you are tainted with the wrongs of slavery. Being black does not mean you are tainted with the wrongs of slavery. Being a victim gets stuff from people who feel guilty. The real victims are bending over backwards

To be fair Stephan they never ACTUALLY got rid of slavery, they just repackaged it and gave it a new name. Today there isn't even free speech, how is that freedom?

Technically in 1807 Parliament abolished the slave trade. Slavery was not abolished throughout the empire until 1834, though still 31 years ahead of the US

What is funny is that Slavery still exists in the world today and in places where it started so very long ago. And yet the calls for that to end are silenced instead those voices that scream loudest are those complaining at those who worked to end it two centuries ago.

19th century Britain was very active in using it's military to fight the slave trade. The royal navy frequently hunted slaver ships on the high seas and attacked slave fortresses on the African coast.
