In just 16 years (1960–1976), U.S. fertility crashed from 3.65 births per woman to only 1.76 - at the same time as future pension and healthcare liabilities exploded. Free market solution = automation. Govt solution = mass third world immigration. Only one will work.

I believe the birthrate is reflective of the uncertainty of the times. I believe left alone it would be self correcting... But flooding the country with unskilled workers and destabilizing political environment creates more 'uncertainty' exacerbating the problem.

In any culture, prosperity leads to smaller families. Prior to this time much of America still had subsistence farming and a large family was essential. Also, this was the heyday of eugenics/Malthusian junk science.

Welfare state undermines the family as a multi-generational economic support unit. The welfare state replaces the family as a source of support. The resulting rise in taxation also undermines the ability of the family to reproduce and create independent household. Vicious circle

They are both free market solutions. If we went back to the traditional conservative/libertarian position on immigration we would be a lot better off. It was big labor and the population explosion freaks who started the anti-immigration fervor.

I particularly like the way that they ignore the fact that immigrants use social services too, and to a higher degree. So, where's the savings or benefit?

Why automation will work: less on-the-job illnesses, injuries leading to higher health payout to corrupt providers. More jobs created in high tech to maintain automation, develop systems & research BENEFITS: real progress in real situations as opposed to progress in socal change

His point is that free market is better than government. I can't argue with that. The government's solution makes things worse. Free market's one makes people richer, but my point is: it doesn't solve the fundamental problem. Birth rates must raise, or else western civ. falls.

I think His point was automation thru free market would have fixed it instead of flooding the country with cheap workers that will in turn need more social security.

Or a realization that capitalism is killing the planet and building a better world in it's place? Oh wait I forgot, people care more about the economy, a figment of the human imagination than the planet, a biosphere literally dying despite the fact that we depend on its survival

Absolutely..decentralization of fed power back to the states, and relocalizing economies across the country. Tax incentives for small business to open up, PROGRESSIVE TAXATION for large corporations in line with the tax rates similar to that of new deal, lots to do

This was not the intention of the founding fathers by any means. This was a white, English speaking, Protestant country for hundreds of years until the immigration act of 1965 was shoved down our throats under false pretenses. We would not have chose this if we weren’t lied to.

I'm not trying to prove anything, but you making the claim that this "was" a white, English speaking, protestant country isn't entirely accurate. Yes, those have been the people who have historically commanded the most econ, cultural and societal influence for most of us history

But that doesn't mean that is all that this country is composed of demographically. Please pick up a history book and read up. Believe it or not, there was once a time when Irish and Italians (among others) were marginalized and scapegoated just like migrants are today...
