Private companies build and maintain roads all the time. Some examples include mining companies, logging companies, and real estate development firms. Just does not get a lot of press. You are forgiven my friend Most people think privatized roads are an absurd notion, so I don't begrudge you for it in any way I will note: public roads are very expensive as well - probably 10x more expensive than private roads - it's just a matter of seen vs unseen costs

I would also suggest that the privatized road in your area would probably be cheaper to access if it were competing against many other private roads. Increase supply ---> lower price
