Japan does not hand out citizenship nor does it give welfare to migrant workers. Its the employer's responsibility to secure housing etc. I bet if they loose their job they'll be deported too. Japan never changes.

If they were smart they’d call on their Japanese breathren world wide to come home and give them incentives to do so. Otherwise... unless they choose wisely, it’s good bye Japan.

If the foreigners are their to work and most are from a civilized nation it should be okay, however, I always liked that Japan was Japan, for the Japanese.

Japan has always been and will always be for the Japanese. The immigrating process there is a bureaucratic nightmare that last decades. You can visit, you can even work for a time, but you cannot stay and you'll never be seen as a citizen by the Japanese.

That sounds bad from a point of view. But I think there is a place for it and there always has been.

It sounds like common sense for every country on this planet except for western nations that adopted a disney-like philosophy of everyone and everything being equal.

It didn't say from which countries though? Last year they were from China, Vietnam, Philippines, Brazil, and Nepal. Assuming its the same/similar this year, I'm sure they'll be just fine. Not sure what all the fuss is about in the comments.

If an industry can't find workers because they pay so little them they should have to raise their rates to attract workers rather then be allowed to bring in cheap foreign labour.
